Sensational bid by PSG for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha / Dybala to stay at on at Juventus
Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is in a buying mode once again. And he can’t seem to get enough of Leicester City. After signing over defender Harry Maguire for a record £80 million, he is now training his guns on Foxes playmaker James Maddison. Maddison has proven himself to be the finest player for Leicester so far in the ongoing 2019-20 season and was their star performer even in the previous one. So much so, that the 22-year old Coventry-born midfielder is expected to be named in the next England squad by Gareth Southgate. Rumour is that Leicester would be willing to let go off Maddison for no less than what they got for Maguire.
But one rumour doing the rounds tops everything. Paris Saint-Germain seem to be looking for a player who could replace Neymar, in event the Brazilian star were to depart Parc de Princes. In their endeavours to so, they are believed to be planning to make a £100 million bid for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha. Which is in itself a stunning piece of news considering a £40 million move by the Ivorian international to Manchester United got aborted not very long ago. PSG are already preparing to send a delegation to Selhurst Park to negotiate over Zaha’s future. The 26-year-old winger had earlier expressed a desire to leave Palace has been subject of bids from Manchester United, Arsenal and Everton this summer. However, Palace are under no pressure to sell Zaha, as the winger signed a five-year deal £130,000-a-week deal last year and the club would have to wait until January before being able to bring in a replacement.
If Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague is to be believed, Barcelona and Real Madrid were told by Paris Saint-German to submit their final offers for Neymar before midday on Friday. But in a late twist PSG has reportedly worked out something that has improved relations between the club and Neymar’s representative (his father) dramatically. As for Neymar, he wants a return to La Liga with Barcelona as his preferred destination.
Tottenham fans were left disappointed when the club were unable to complete a last-minute deal to sign Juventus star Paolo Dybala during the transfer window. However, the North London club feels there is still a possibility of the move going ahead by January 2020. But then, much would depend on what move PSG make for the Argentine forward. The Juventus star has been tipped to join PSG if Neymar returns to La Liga in the coming days. Although not happy at being relegated to a secondary role upfront after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, Dybala hasn’t shown any overt desire to leave Turin. When asked if he was planning to leave Juventus, the answer was a vehement “No”.
